Menu Planning with Pinterest

Dinnertime in our house can be, as I assume in many houses, challenging. My husband is allergic to a lot of different things. Poultry and Seafood among the most limiting. Let me stop your puzzled look and elaborate...yes he is allergic to

Fish and Fowl.

Feathers and Fins.

Basically anything that Swims or Flies.

No Turkey on Thanksgiving. Can you tell I've had to explain this more than a few times?

He also claims to be a super taster, which means he's more sensitive when it comes to things with lots of spice, vinegar, or as I interpret it: flavor. I've recently gone back to a limited dairy lifestyle after realizing I felt better without it when I had to give it up for my son's dairy allergies while nursing him as a baby. And we have one child who doesn't like to expand his culinary horizons very far beyond buttered noodles. Does any of this sound like your household?

With all these limitations, everyone's favorite question to ask me is:

What do you guys eat for dinner?

With that in mind I decided to start menu planning a little more. I created a Pinterest Board with links to some of my favorite recipes. I know I'm not the only one in this boat, so I'm sharing my life preserver with all of you! You can find the link to my Favorite Recipes Board here. Disclaimer: Just because something is posted to the board, doesn't mean everyone in our house likes it. If anyone likes a recipe I've tried, and asks for it again, it gets posted to the board. This way, I have easy access to them in the kitchen or grocery store. It's been a huge help to me, so I always encourage friends to create a board like this...or just use mine!

On that same note, I also have a bigger Pinterest Board that is a list of all the recipes I'd like to try someday. As you go through it, you can definitely tell what kind of mood I was in when I posted things. Some are for parties. Some are for desserts. But all of them caught my interest for some reason. I will try in the months moving forward to organize it a little better, but for now, check them out if you'd like. The link to my Recipes to Try Board can be found here:

I also update my Instagram with pics and blurbs on how to make anything I've thrown together and works well. So come follow me. ;)

That's it for now. Would love to hear what recipes you love! Tag me on Instagram @ellimoonshop or share in the comments below! Maybe one of your faves will be featured on my board soon! :)
